Can I lead? Learn what leadership is based upon in Fractals and its transition to this point.

Fractal leaders collaborate and contribute to and utilize resources contained in Series List and Life Change Environment.  Most Series Lists contain teaching videos with applicable transcripts, discussion guides, and user comments.  The Life Change Environment provides resources to fractal leaders and mentors for the 1-on-1.

Are you a leader? Being a fractal leader is an active role with dynamic responsibilities.  Before answering the question, the type of leader you may or may not perceive yourself to be needs to be answered.  There is a sharp difference between biblical leadership and that of our culture.  Biblical leadership focuses on kingdom growth through daily adjustments to God.  Cultural leadership rewards outward markers while disregarding the inward heart.  The Apostle Paul emphasized spiritual character when instructing Timothy and Titus to appoint church elders.  His focus on spiritual character was a reflection of where the person was at inwardly.  God works from the inside out when he renews and transforms us.

Cultural leadership, sadly, has infiltrated the church.  Church health is often times measured in attendance, giving, and the number of campuses or ministries.  These are all outward measures which do do not necessarily reflect spiritual health.  Christ set an example of living the five functions of the Christian.  Paul, in following Christ’s example, lived them out also.  A by-product of living these functions points toward living a Spirit-filled life; a life where God’s Spirit is the Teacher and Counselor.

A fractal leader is an elder as identified by Paul in his letters (1Ti 3:1-7; Tit 1).  An elder does not have to be seminary trained.  So, in answering the question, “Are you a leader?”, do two things.  One, read Paul’s qualifications for the position.  Two, seek direction from God if this is a position to which he is calling you.

Fractals

Fractals have intricate components operating together to repeat a simple pattern uniquely influenced by its leadership.  The influence of leadership is holding the deep truths of the faith. This same leadership lays a foundation of intentional relationships; the heart of fractal operations.  Its by-product is a community of people being challenged to embrace the life change available through Christ.

Fractals are not isolated occurrences or perfect, textbook scenarios of the local church.  They are imperfect and not without their own challenges.  However, they are found to naturally operate within the balance of simple, Biblical mandates and parameters.
